Overview
Jon Krivitzky is a founding member of Bounding Main and is the group’s musical director, purser and also sings tenor. Jon has been involved in other musical projects, notably a widely recognized acapella adaptation of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, called Voices on the Dark Side; Dark Side of the Moon – A Cappella. Additionally he has participated in projects featuring Barbershop Music, Madrigal Music and Contemporary Pop and Folk Music. With Bounding Main he has performed at music festivals in the United States, Quebec (Canada), Cornwall (England), the Netherlands, Brittany (France), Germany and Poland.
With dual degrees in music and computer science, Jon works on the IT team for a major medical supply distributor outside of Chicago.
As the Bounding Main musical director he works the group through rehearsals and provides transcriptions of songs that the group has organically arranged. Jon also provides sometimes very complex arrangements of existing, traditional maritime music. Because of his dedication and intuitive musical talent Bounding Main has become internationally recognized for its beautiful harmonies and clever arrangements.
Jon is an enthusiastic follower of American and international politics. He also remains an active supporter of his Washington University acapella group, Mosaic Whispers. This group recently released this video to honor their anniversary in 2020.
