Overview
Meetings with Sailing Song and Folk Music “Szanty we Wrocław” – one of the oldest and most important Polish festivals – will be held for the 34th time!
Lovers of sailing and shanty singing are invited to Wrocław on March 2-5, 2023.
The main concert of the festival on Saturday will take place at the A2 Concert Center at ul. Góralska, which has already been known to the sailing audience during previous editions. The spectators will have both sitting and standing-dancing places and, helpful in singing together, bars with sailing drinks. Other festival events, including night concerts, will take place in the Gothic Hall in the Old Monastery under the watchful eye of our dwarf – Neptune!
The inaugural concert of the festival is the 40th anniversary of the Stare Dzwony band, which marked the beginning of the huge popularity of sailing songs in Poland. In addition to the traditional shanties that are the showcase of Stare Dzwony, we will hear the original songs of the band members – Rysiek Muzaj, Andrzej Korycki and the late – Janusz Sikorski and Jurek Porębski, which will forever remain in the memory of fans of sailing climates. Marek Szurawski, in addition to performing on stage, will present himself as a bartender and will prepare for you the best rum cocktails straight from the Caribbean.
