Overview

Chanting Lads is a group of five men who enjoy challenging themselves in harmonious singing and music making. The group sings their own adaptions of (Irish) balads, evergreens and folksongs. They sing German, English, and French songs and their own Dutch compositions.

Chanting Lads mainly aims for a ‘listening audience’: the sensitive, polyphonic (many-voiced) chansons are alternated with tongue-in-cheek songs, and every now and then the audience is graced with a work song, which was meant to soften the callus on the soul during the hard work of times gone by.

Where necessary, accordions and cajon accompany the singing. Chanting Lads is a group of singers that lives in and nearby the Land van Heusden and Altena area.
