Colin Grier
Colin has had a long involvement with music. He started out as a member of a ‘Beach Boys’ inspired band called ‘The Malibu Sound’ (so nautical influences from the start!) Colin played bass guitar and singing. This was back in the late 60s. The band reached the dizzy heights of recording for Radio Brighton and had a strong local following. Colin loved harmony singing and performing generally. Always interested in folk music but Introduced into Morris music and dancing later. Firstly he supporting Calceto Morris and then Sompting Village Morris. He soon found that his dancing skills were not great, so learnt to play the melodeon and continue to be part of the musical backing for Sompting to this day. Through them he was introduced to the Wellington Wailers. His love of traditional singing and an opportunity to bring back his love of harmony singing was too good an opportunity to miss!
