Overview
The Bristol Renaissance Faire is an American theme park that portrays the English seaport town of Bristol during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. For 35 years the festival, which operates during the summer months only, has featured a number of living history characters portraying key maritime figures such as Raleigh, Drake, Frobisher and Hawkins, among others. For a number of years the ensemble cast (today called “By the Sword”) played infamous Seadogs, nautical heroes of England.
