Overview
The Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild is a vibrant community committed to preserving and sharing maritime history through hands-on experiences aboard our vessels Jupiter and Gazela Primeiro.
Gazela is a wooden tall ship, built in 1901, whose home port is Philadelphia. She was built as a commercial fishing vessel, and used in that capacity for more than sixty years.
2021: Gazela is continuing to be under repair at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia. Volunteers have been making the time to come and work on her so that she can be restored to her former glory and set sail again.
