Overview
Rhum et Eau (English: Rum and Water) appears as a Duo or Sextet.
With three albums to their credit and a remarkable period as part of Soldat Louis at L’Olympia, the “Frangins” scour the country to rediscover the musical heritage of the Breton coast.
The duo is made up of Vincent Le Grumelec and Guillaume Yaouank, accompanied by electric guitar, bass, drums and violin.
As a sextet, they are joined by;
from the rock scene, Christophe Le Sager (Guitar), Nicolas Guégan (Bass), Loïc Le Sager (Drums), Kristens Manni or René Mirat (Violin) bring a formidable energy to the repertoire of Rhum et Eau.
The program combines a skilful mix of tradition and modernity
- Vincent Le Grumelec, Singer, keyboards, author, composer.
He founded Rhum et Eau in 1994 with an accordionist, before joining Guillaume Yaouank in 1998 in a rock band: “DAM!” (Where he produced the album “Etats… DAM!”). On keyboards and singing in different groups, (Black Label Zone, BPM…), it’s Rhum and Eau that is his “home port”.
Son and grandson of “crieurs au port” in Lorient, he was born and raised in his birthplace of Locmiquélic, for which he wrote an eponymous ballad, one of the most beautiful in the duo’s repertoire.
- Guillaume Yaouank, Singer, guitarist, composer.
Is his name familiar to you? He is the nephew of Mikaël Yaouank Leader of Djiboudjep, whom he has accompanied since 2008. From the fishing port where he worked for 10 years in a maritime workshop, he is a pure Lorient native, (you just have to listen to his accent!).
