Les Goels (Charentais patois for goélands, or “Seagulls” in English) is a trio, (sometimes more) performing “marine rock,” songs evoking the sea and sailors and also beautiful soft and personal songs
The group seeks to enhance the historical heritage of La Rochelle, employing a musical and cultural journey aimed at developing inter-generational exchanges with a very wide audience. An original, active, popular and topical way to involve all communities in the discovery of the riches of the History of the City of La Rochelle, as well as in the cultural life of its inhabitants, les Rochelais.
The group’s name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the seagulls that followed the trawlers into port, hoping to gain from the hard work of the sailors.
