Overview
Baggyrinkle, brought together by Dave Robinson (retired) and managed by the long suffering but brilliant Terri Kennedy, are in their 27th year. Four original singers- Ken, Dave James, Andy and Tony – have been joined by Alan, Kevin and Gareth. Our close friendship underpins our singing. We are probably the only shanty group in the U.K. with a constitution that starts “Baggyrinkle aims to have fun”. And we do! Baggyrinkle are renowned for laughing through breakfast when at festivals – usually at Alan’s jokes and our own dreams. We have graced festivals and venues across Europe and the USA having a “Welsh choir” approach to harmonies in many choruses. Gathering from all walks of life, members past roles include doctor, medical scientist, nurse, headmaster, jewellery maker, businessman, and NHS manager. Harmonies are created “on the night”. Although Shanties are our mainstay, we also sing mining, rural & drinking songs.

It was discovered on 6 Jan 2026 that the Baggyrinkle website was taken over by an Asian malware site. We cannot stress strongly enough to NOT attempt to view it as that can lead to your own computer system being infected!
