Looking for lively entertainment? Then you must see Swinging the Lead.

With their own unique style of performing traditional shanties and contemporary maritime songs with a lively, upbeat, foot-tapping twist, you are cordially invited to join the fun of a Swinging the Lead performance.

One weekend every month, resident sea shanty groups, The HogEye Men and Swinging the Lead, (who have been performing there since 2011) transform the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark‘s ‘Tween Deck with the harmonies of sea shanties, traditional working songs. The groups perform on alternate days to entertain visitors to this famous attraction.

The Hogeye Men perform on the first Saturday and Swinging the Lead on the first Sunday of the month (*).

(*) Note: Performances take place over the first weekend of the month when both Saturday and Sunday are in that month. For example, if the 1st of the month was a Sunday, the shanty sessions would be held the following weekend.

With over fifteen years’ experience of singing Shanties and Maritime Folk songs, Simon, Andy, Pete, Paul and TC are firmly established and highly respected within the Sea Shanty community and regularly perform at festivals in the UK and Europe.
