Overview

Here are two multi-instrumentalist friends (Paul Grollier: vocals, diatonic accordions, concertinas, percussion) and Claude Ribouillault: vocals, violins, concertinas, flutes, percussion) who have shared their passion for bringing traditional songs and dance tunes to life for years. or the popular “songsong” practice that they have mostly collected themselves or discovered through their extensive research in rare works or manuscripts kept in coastal families “between the Loire and Gironde”.
Accordionist, singer and dancer Paul Grollier has collected songs, tales and life stories over the course of his encounters in Vendée, Charente and Italy. Today he teaches the diatonic accordion and participates in various groups.
Singer and player of popular instruments Claude Ribouillault has been at the heart of many adventures around popular musical traditions. Researcher, nosy, collector, he has an incredible and magnificent collection of popular violins; He is also one of the partners in the revival of sea shanties, a member of the first team of the Cabestan group, and a connoisseur of the maritime repertoire – he is the author of the book Musiques d’à bord (2015).
Embark with the duo for, as one of their songs says, “To leave on the Charente / One last gulp of Pineau / before the tide rises too high”!
