Rattlebox are a raucous folk band from Norfolk. We specialise in goodtime rowdy pub music, and can often be found playing at festivals and in pubs around Norfolk. We play a combination of our own songs, traditional songs and shanties and even a few contemporary tunes.

Rattlebox was formed in 2007 in the North Norfolk village of Corpusty. We were a group of friends who had a shared love of music, cider and rural life. One late night in The Earle Arms we were talking of past bands we had played in, and in a heady mixture of mid-life crises and alcohol we decided to form a band and Rattlebox was born.

The name Rattlebox came from our cider making activities. Norfolk Rattlebox is a rare, local variety of apple. There are only two known mature trees left. The apple has the name Rattlebox because when you shake a ripe one, the pips rattle inside the fruit.
