The Jolly Strumpets

We are The Jolly Strumpets, an all female shanty choir based in the heart of Cornwall. Having formed in late 2018 we sing a variety of Shanty songs based around the women of the times and the things they endured while the men were at sea.

We hope to bring a lighter side to the Shanty world with our amazing costumes and sense of fun.

Note 1: Not to be confused with the female musical group called, “StrumPets.”

Note 2: A definition of the word. “Strumpet” = “A woman who dresses in a way that some people disapprove of and whose behaviour is considered sexually immoral.”
