Shipmates

Shipmates is a sea shanty-themed duo from the Isle of Wight, made up of Glynis Marsh and Simon Davis.

Glynis Marsh plays cornet, flugel, trumpet, horn, mellaphonium and Swiss alphorn. She started playing at 7yrs old in carnivals and brass bands and sang live on air at 14 yrs. She bugles every year on Remembrance Day and has also played bugle calls for the Shanty Festival.

Simon Davis is a pianist, organist and clarinetist performing classical music and Jazz for many years.

The Duo Shipmates, entertain with a short, lusty and vigorous romp through a few Seafaring songs including Bobby Shaftoe, This Ships Going Down and evergreen favourite, Drunken Sailor. Audience participation will certainly not be deterred!
