International Sea Song Association (ISSA)

The International Sea Song Association was a collective grouping of the world’s maritime music groups that included both shantychors/shantykoors and maritime musical acts.  It is now defunct and is generally replaced by Shantynederland for the Netherlands and the Fachverband Shantychöre Deutschland for Germany.  There was an effort to assemble a UK organization, but as of 13 December 2025 it has failed to materialize.
