Overview
A monthly sing around session is organised by Wylde Water shanty crew and held at 20:00 on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the historic LLandoger Trow Pub, (also known as “The Trow”), King Street Bristol BS1 4ER
They write:
“Ahoy all you Landlubbers ⚓
Always wanted to gather round in the pub, that’s big, old, full of piratical and nautical history, and sing shanties and songs of the seas, together?
Your dream has come true. Come and use your voices to join us for an acapella sing, you swashbuckling lot
Lead a tune, learn a tune, have a listen, join in the refrains and chorus’s
Traditionals, obscure tunes, experiments, and originals – all sea based (sometimes land based) very much encouraged!
Along with Story telling of stormy tales.
Fancy dress certainly not discouraged either!
By all means make an ‘arr’ sound, a wey-hey, gushing sounds of waves, and a seagull squawk as other ways of getting involved…
This group is to connect all of the wonderful people who are regulars and who pass through the session!
The mighty Llandoger Trow has a history full of rich sea-based connections, stories and just like us, legends of its own.
Weh-hey me hearties!”
