Overview
For several decades, the famous biennial “La Morue en Fête” festival, (“Often copied, never equalled!”) has made the port and streets of Binic-Étables-sur-Mer vibrate to the rhythm of sea songs, iodised flavours and Breton conviviality.
A true local institution, the event pays tribute to the maritime history of the territory and the tradition of cod fishing that forged the identity of the local coastline.
Every year, La Morue en Fête, (“Cod Festival” in English) brings together nearly 60,000 people and offers a rich and free program with concerts, exhibitions, catering stands, conferences, information about maritime professions and various other events. There are musical shows, local crafts, non-stop entertainment for 4 days and of course cod in all its forms… Beautiful and wonderful surprises await you!!!
A different theme is chosen to be represented at the festival each year, with in 2026, a tribute to Newfoundland will take centre stage for the four days of the festival, running from the 14th to 17th May.
