Overview

La Danaë is a maritime music group from Plérin in the bay of Saint-Brieuc, created by Pierre Jégou in 1999, the Danaë, with its 13 singers, 11 singers and 4 musicians (chromatic and diatonic accordions, guitars and bodhrán) which will take you around the world to share the life of sailors through their work songs but also their relaxing songs after their hard days.

Between gravity and lightness, between spray and seagulls, you will hear storms, revolts; you will cross pirates and corsairs.

More contemporary songs will take you to the ports, to the taverns for a happy reunion on your return from fishing. Danaë has sung all over Brittany and France (Brest, Paimpol, Binic, Plérin, Plaintel, Plouha, Carantec, Piriac, Trégunc, Concarneau, Corlay, St Malo, Dives sur Mer, Meuse, Occitanie, Anjou, Corrèze).

Note: “La Danaë” is also the name of a French capstan shanty concerning a ship of the same name.
