Overview
Libenter is a large Breton group performing songs of sailors and the sea.
It is composed of 28 singers and musicians from the region of Landéda and Aber-Wrac’h (Finistère France) that add diatonic and chromatic accordions, bass, flute, guitars, harmonica and percussion to their performances.
The group’s clothing sports the yellow and black colours of the west cardinal buoy “Libenter” well known to the navigators: position: 48°37′,5N _ 004°38′,4W.
Created in 2008, as of 2026, Libenter has 30 members, divided into three age groups: six under 70, seven aged 70 to 75 and seventeen over 75. If the functioning of the group is considered stable, “new musicians would be welcome,” says President Jean-Yves Chapalain.
