Join Blackbeard and his crew for Pirates on the Quay, a spectacular weekend of family entertainment 29th to 31st August 2026, celebrating Burnham-on-Crouch’s rich maritime heritage and marking Quay Day, the traditional opening of Burnham Sailing Week.

Throughout the day, pirates will roam the Quayside and High Street, bringing plenty of fun, laughter and pirate mischief to the town.

Expect live music, sea shanties, street performers and plenty of opportunities to meet colourful pirate characters as they search for food, grog and adventure.

Enjoy live performances from The Captain’s Beard, The Swashbucklers, and Burnham favourites Bassett & Fraser, with music and entertainment taking place around the town throughout the day.

Come visit Le Phoenix, two-masted star of Hollywood and TV. Tours from Friday 28th to Monday 31st August.

The event also supports Burnham’s local businesses, with pirates visiting pubs, cafés, restaurants and shops along their route.

Whether you’re dressing as a pirate, enjoying the live entertainment or simply soaking up the unique atmosphere, Pirates on the Quay promises a fantastic Bank Holiday day out for all ages.

Come along, embrace your inner pirate and see if you can find Blackbeard and his crew… if you dare!
