Overview
Scheepsfolk (English: “ship people”) is a trio from the Netherlands with a dynamic mix of traditional and new folk, with maritime as the main theme. The band has a unique style of its own, in which influences can be heard from blues, skiffle, reggae, country, Cajun and Americana. This guarantees pure folk, full of energy, with songs about the North Sea, but also about the Mississippi and the Yukon. This enthusiastic group sings together and accompanies themselves with guitar, banjo, harmonica and bass and with percussion on the washboard.
