Overview
A major, week-long folk festival, held in Sidmouth, Devon in early August, featuring concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, top bands, late-night dancing, pub sessions and more, welcoming thousands of visitors to over 700 different and diverse events, including the “Sidmouth Sea Songs Sessions.”.
Founded in 1955, Sidmouth Folk Festival is a national treasure of the music world. The annual celebration permeates virtually every nook and cranny of the elegant Regency town, from the seafront and shopping streets to venues large and small, from pubs and clubs to the main Ham concert marquee and the high energy Bulverton party tent at the top of the hill.
In recent years, the festival has been organised by Fishermans’ Friends and Fairport Convention.
The 71st Sidmouth Folk Festival was held between the 1st and 8th August 2025, with the next event due to take place 31st July to 7th August 2026
