Sylter Shanty-Chor

Finally we are back on the stages of our island – after 2 years of a forced break due to the pandemic, we were able to delight guests like Sylt with our singing again this season. 15 atmospheric, large concerts in almost always sold-out halls in Rantum and Wenningstedt or in front of thousands of people on the Westerland Promenade and a few other successful performances are behind us.
Since the beginning of October we have been rehearsing for our Christmas concerts, which hopefully can take place again this year in the Sylt island churches in Westerland, Keitum and Morsum. Traditionally, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 10 a.m., we will provide music for the service for the 1st Advent in the Friesenkapelle Wenningstedt. We hope that “Corona” will not thwart our plans again and look forward to seeing you again during the Advent and Christmas season. Until then, best wishes to you.

SYLTER SHANTY CHOIR
The large repertoire of the Sylt Shanty Choir consists of shanties and sea shanties, traditional and new songs. Everyone who loves powerful and rough male singing – like it was sung many, many years ago on sailing ships and in seafaring bars – will find a good interpreter in the Sylter Shanty Choir. One experiences the past through the performance of the choir in the present.
