In 2026 the spirit of the emerald isle will descend on Albany with toe-tapping tunes, wild reels, and rebel songs as we celebrate the music, magic, and mischief of Ireland.

From fireside folk sessions and concerts, to full blown pub shanty singing, from tales of pirates, whales and shipwrecks; Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival turns the city’s historic centre into a playground of maritime culture. Set on the shores of the majestic waters of Mamang Koort (Heart of the Whale), join us for this annual festival that celebrates the heart and soul of Albany/ Kinjarling.
