Overview
The Rusty Tubs formed in 2017 when father Paul and son Deegan got a group of Deegan’s classmate, Matthew, Sam, Richard, Ed, and Olie, involved in medieval re-enactment and living history. At these events there was a tradition of singing sea shanties and other folk songs around camp fires. One afternoon, while making new gear for events, and singing, Matt suggested they do it for real as a group.
They have since been joined by Nick, Daevid, Mark, Alfie, Jack and Darren play pubs and venues up and down the south west of the UK. The group is based in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and meets regularly on Thursday nights, with occasional sessions in a local pub
The Rusty Tubs are a raucous musical act that sweeps you away on a journey across the high seas with rowdy shanties, wistful songs of the sea, and spirited traditional folk tunes. Singing tales of drunken revelry, lost loves, and the wide expanse of the ocean, audiences are invited to join in a celebration of maritime history and the timeless allure of the water. Get ready to hoist yer tankards!
