Formed in January 2015 as an off-shoot of the St Ives Town Band to perform Sea Shanties, Cornish Folk songs in a mixture of unison and part singing.

According to the St. Ives Shanty Shout website, “St Ives Shanty Shout was started in 2016 by members of Bamaluz Bootleggers. They invited some friends to come and sing with them and raise some money for a good cause.  Bamaluz Bootleggers might not sing together anymore and venues have come and gone along the way, but the core idea proved to be very popular and is now an annual event.”
