Overview

The Bruinisser Visserskoor was founded in 1992.

We are a household name on Schouwen-Duiveland and far beyond. The choir is led by conductor Nelleke Bruggeman. It has approximately 30 members/singers. The music is provided by 2 accordionists, a keyboard player and a cajon player. Our repertoire is mainly Dutch and we sing sea shanties, almost entirely recorded on three CDs. The choir also regularly performs outside Bruinisse . Before corona, the choir had more than 25 performances annually. Highlights include performances during Visserijdagen Bruinisse, Havendagen Zierikzee and elsewhere. We also regularly perform in retirement and nursing homes, at day markets, at other festivities and company parties.

Bruinisser Viserskoor was a member of the International Shanty and Seasongs Association.
