Daisy Nell & Capt Stan and the Crabgrass Band

Daisy Nell & Capt. Stan with their Crabgrass Band mates combine the songs of the sea and shore with bluegrass standards. Daisy Nell and Stan, with Jack Schwartz on banjo, Pat Conlon on mandolin, Dimitri Eleftherakis on bass, and Maria Wolters on dobro have conjured up a unique sound with a variety of traditional and contemporary folk sources. With all joining on vocal harmonies, the evening will fill with down home, foot stomping music and songs.

The group’s repertoire varies from folk standards to original compositions, presented with a vocal blend that comes from over twenty years of making music together. Daisy has long been associated with school programs and the Essex Hoe Down, and is an author of several children’s books. Stan and Daisy, with the band, have recorded 5 CD’s, with their latest, Snow on the Roof, and others available at this show.
