Déferlante is a four-piece maritime folk group hailing from Quebec in Canada.

Songs of sailors, songs of villains, déferlante is the meeting of a group of musicians with paths as different as they are complementary, who find in the maritime universe the ideal playground to compose or to appropriate the classics. It is, as you might say, the meeting of antiquity and novelty.

The name of the group = A wave is said to be “déferlante” in French when, transported by the swell in the sea turns into a characteristic and easily identifiable roller on the surface of the water, usually accompanied by foam.

Note: Not to be confused with the folk group, La Déferlance, also from Quebec.
