El Pony Pisador

One of the groups that has been on everyone’s lips this 2021 has been El Pony Pisador. Songs such as “La Noble vila de Su”, “La confraria del menhir” or “My father is a cheese” are examples. If we mix the world of JRR Tolkien with Monty Python the result could be something similar to The Pony Pisador. Traditional Celtic and Folk music with a dose of absurd humor.

The Pony Pisador is really known with his first professional work “Register a Galera” (Coopula 2019) with which they begin a tour of taverns in Catalonia and the United Kingdom, which is interrupted by the pandemic of COVID-19 . In this situation they did not want to be left doing nothing and decided to start a sponsorship project with Aixeta.cat which has more than 200 patrons. As part of this project, they launched an informative channel on YouTube where they could develop and share an interest in traditional forms of music. They also started doing streaming concerts, becoming one of the channels with the highest average viewers in the Catalan language.

In September 2020 they released a new album “Our Friends the Spheniscids” (self-produced), an album of penguin photographs simulating a trip to Antarctica. Despite being a joke, they received great recognition on social media, which helped them a lot when it came to releasing their latest work, Jaja Salu2 (Guspira Records 2021). A humorous and surreal album at the same time created with the participation of fans in contests on Instagram, Twitter and live on twitch. These songs went viral and created a before and after in El Pony Pisador’s career.

As a result of this record, El Pony Pisador tripled the number of concerts closing in 2021 with more than 40 concerts and 30 sold out. They are currently preparing the release of their third album “It’s never too late for Sea Shanties”, an album by Shanties that they had pending with their most loyal audience.
