This recording features Massachusetts singer Paul Clayton and the Foc’sle Singers: Dave Van Ronk, Bob Brill, Roger Abrahams, and Bob Yellin. Most of their repertoire comes from BBC field recordings of English shantymen.” [Smithsonian Folkways]
Paul Clayton and the Fo’c’sle Singers released “Foc’sle Songs and Shanties” on Folkways Records (Catalog numbers FW02429, FA 2529) IN 1959.
