Overview
Les Fous de Bassin. Songs of sailors and the sea.
Les Fous de Bassan is a group created in 2003 in Le Pouliguen, a commune in the south of Brittany, on the edge of the salt marshes of the Guéranda Peninsula.
It is composed of 30 singers and musicians, women and men, united by a common passion. Their goal is to revive and contribute to the promotion of traditional and contemporary songs from the world of the sea. The personalisation of existing texts or texts written by members of the group makes up an extensive list of songs.
The original arrangements created by their choirmaster bring a very special touch to the interpretations. Over the years and various meetings, the Fous de Bassan have evolved to provide an original and personalised program.
After more than 20 years of existence, their approach is undeniably one of sharing, and with an increasingly large audience. They participate in various concerts and events and requests. To share and keep track of their activities, the group recorded 5 albums in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2023 that may be purchased from them direct.
