Overview
Les Gaillards d’Avant is a maritime music group from Préfailles in Brittany, that will animate your evenings or family parties, under a marquee, on stage or outdoors (if weather permits.)
For eighteen years, the Gaillards d’Avant, based in Préfailles (Côte de Jade – 44) have held many concerts in the west of France, during sea festivals, fairs, public and private evenings, and family events.
The group includes about twenty singers and five musicians (guitars, bass, accordion and percussion).
CDs are available to order or for sale during concerts.
In our repertoire, a hundred songs, mainly focussed on matters maritime: Corsairs, coastal fishermen or Newfoundland, Kanak whalers, Irish navigators, or sailors on the Loire, Life on board and port stopovers, shipwrecks or reunions, funny, melancholic or dancing songs, the contrasting adventure of sailors as if you were there!
Note: The name of the group may be translated as “The merry men in the front.”
