Overview
Originally from Finistère, Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine, the members of the Godilleurs de la Flume group were based in the Rennes basin.
The group had around a dozen singers and assorted musicians, with their repertoire of songs, both traditional and contemporary, extending from St Malo to Bordeaux through some essential Shanties and contemporary creations.
Primarily an amateur group, their aim was to share the pleasure of singing with the public and other groups, as well as the discovery of new texts and stories of the sea that maintain the memory of this heritage.
In May 2023 the group disbanded:
“After 20 years of adventure, the Godillers de la Flume have returned to port. Thank you to all our friends and supporters who have allowed us to live unforgettable moments. For all fans of sailor songs, a new group
“GODILLEURS” has taken over and is already at sea.”
There group produced a CD entitled “Kermor” (The name of their late friend Jean Le Faucheur’s boat.) This may be purchased via their website.
