The Golden Rivets are a group of friends, mostly from Harwich who have been playing and having fun together for many years and hope to keep their name going for many more.

Accompanied by a variety of instruments they play and sing a lively, upbeat set of shanties and sea songs

A note on the group’s name: A Golden Rivet refers to the claim in naval folklore that the final rivet hammered into a ship is a commemorative made of gold. The idea seemingly derived from the commemorative golden spike that was temporarily driven at the completion of the U.S. transcontinental railroad in 1869.
