We play maritime songs because we love the sea and it loves us too. Our seaman’s yarn is about leaving and coming back and the great longing in between. Music in the web of life. We reinterpret old songs, we invent our own pieces and we collect musical flotsam and jetsam that we like.

From La Paloma to the Baltic Sea song to the very back where the lighthouse stands or the first time, it still hurts or I don’t know who I belong to, only to find ourselves standing on the Reeperbahn again at half past midnight. Of course we change the music, we miss our own note and look for our own sound, the songs flow through us, they clearly belong to the water. The humor, the roughness and the frighteningly simple wisdom of life have saved us from many a distress at sea.

Harbor night is the sailors Erk Braren on guitar and Heiko Quistorf on accordion. Uschi Wittich sings the sea.

Erk Braren, the man from the coast, plays his island guitar. He plays a double game and is a carpenter in his other life. He is seaworthy!

Heiko Quistorf plays the accordion and trumpet and almost never has time. He is an extremely versatile and sought-after musician. He plays the trumpet in big bands, plays the accordion in harbor concerts and at weddings. He only likes big ships.

Uschi Wittich is the voice of Hafennacht. The sea is rough but good to her. With maritime songs, she has finally landed in the right harbor after an uncertain course. She gets seasick, but never gives up.

The group has six albums available on CD for sale at their concerts.
