Overview
Hélianthème is a French group of travelling singers and musicians, performing songs of sailors and the sea.
It was in 2020, somewhere between Saint-Malo and Groix that old friends met on a sailing boat for a few days, accompanied by some experienced sailors. During stopovers, the Master pushed them out of the boat to play music on the pontoons and other ships in the ports around Brittany.
After spending the summer playing and singing from the Emerald Coast to the Mer d’Iroise, they returned with a desire to start a group of musicians, based around a simple, open and warm repertoire.
On sharing their idea with two other old friends, the group grew beyond its conception during another trip and Helianathème was born in 2021.
Essentialy a group of itinerant musicians and singers, Héliantème has already played more than a hundred concerts in Brittany, Centre-Val de Loire, Ile-de-France, Aveyron and Hauts-de-France, singing at the top of their voices and with heart, for and with the people.
L’Hélianthème and La Toue-Scène took part in “Barzhed Ô Bark”, an extraordinary travelling tour along the canal from Nantes to Brest between Nort-sur-Erdre and Josselin from July 17 to August 03 2025.
Note: The name of the group may be translated as “Helianthemum” in English and refers to the flower, as can be seen in the group’s logo.
Nous sommes en 2020, quelque part entre Saint-Malo et Groix. Deux vieux amis se retrouvent sur un voilier pour quelques jours, en compagnie de marins chevronnés. Lors des escales, c’est le doyen du bord qui les pousse à sortir du bateau pour aller jouer sur les pontons et autres navires des ports de Bretagne.
Après avoir passé l’été à jouer et à chanter de la côte d’émeraude à la mer d’Iroise, ils reviennent avec la volonté de fonder un groupe de musiciens rassemblés autour d’un répertoire simple, ouvert et chaleureux.
En partageant leur idée à deux autres vieilles amitiés, le groupe dépasse le stade de sa conception lors d’un autre voyage. L’Hélianthème voit le jour dans le courant de l’année 2021.
Itinérant par essence, l’Hélianthème a déjà joué plus d’une centaine de concerts en Bretagne, Centre-Val de Loire, Ile-de-France, Aveyron et Hauts-de-France, chantant à pleins poumons et avec le cœur, pour et avec les gens.
L’Hélianthème et La Toue-Scène sont heureux de vous présenter Barzhed Ô Bark, une tournée itinérante hors norme le long du canal de Nantes à Brest entre Nort-sur-Erdre et Josselin du 17 juillet au 03 aout 2025
