No longer performing, the original, highly-entertaining and amusing “Biches Cocottes,” (or “Cocottish young girls” in English) had a very particular repertoire. They stated; “We choose traditional texts according to what we can bring them offbeat. It is neither a heavy nor a feminist look at songs usually interpreted by men. We are respectful, we are subtle, we talk about men who have had tough lives.”

Three girls with three subtle voices. A group that riffs on an unexpected repertoire with a sea wind and a little madness. Acapella or sometimes accompanied by their instruments, they revisited the maritime songs of Brittany, Ireland or elsewhere, by bringing a very original feminine touch to these texts, sometimes reminiscent of 1940’s Swing Music. The Biches Cocottes made you rediscover with overflowing energy the traditional marine repertoire, from Brittany, Ireland or elsewhere. Their “home-made” compositions embellished it all with unlimited originality.

“They are a hit everywhere they perform,” said Nicole Douchin, a festival organiser. It is a Breton trio in full swing and increasingly in demand. ”

A further show was created for two of the group; “Two women on board,” who had fun once again unravelling a repertoire usually interpreted by men. Concentrated with energy, humour and femininity, the duo dusted-off the classics of the Navy through a stripping interpretation!

Unfortunately, Les Biches Cocottes appear to have performed at their last concert in September 2022
