Bounding Main CD Fish Out of Water FOoW

Logger’s Men are a small crew of singers and musicians from Bremen who are loyal to the original interpretation of Shanties and Forebitters of the seafarers on the historic sailing ships from the 17th to the 19th Century.

We produce our interpretations of Shanties and Forebitters from the lives of seafarers of past times, complemented by funny, sad and bawdy ballads.

We want to help ensure that this musical tradition is further cultivated. Our repertoire is complemented by funny, longing and also rough ballads from the life of seafarers of bygone times. We sing mainly in English and French. We are from Bremen-Vegesack. From 1895 to 1969, this was at times the largest herring fishing company in Europe.

Our name Logger`s Men is reminiscent of the crews of the sailing loggers, who in the stormy North Sea have done their dangerous and exhausting work. Probably the best-known ship of this kind is the one built in 1895 and lovingly prepared BV2 Vegesack, which is ready to sail in the Vegesacker Museum Harbour, unless it is on charter

Since the founding of our group in 2009, we have performed numerous performances at home and abroad, all of which we have performed with our nine singers. Last year, (2013) our first CD “His em up” was released, which was produced with a lot of “heart and soul”.
