Males de Mer (FR)

Made up of sailing enthusiasts, lovers of Brittany and fervent amateurs of sea shanties, the group is above all a group of friends attached to the sea, to sailboats, to Brittany and sharing this common passion. Males de mer has chosen to bring the life of sailors to life at the time of the tall ships.

The group’s repertoire consists mainly of traditional songs from the sailing navy, but also songs by contemporary authors. Without forgetting the songs of our own creation.

To the sound of chromatic and diatonic accordions, harmonicas, guitar, banjo, violin, clarinets, recorder, bodhran, tambourine, spoons…
Males de mer takes you to the heart of marine traditions and maneuvers on tall ships from songs. Work songs, dance or tavern songs. The life of sailors, fishing, the seas of the world, ports, pirates and corsairs are discussed.
