Miguel Biard, an archaeologist by profession, spent his childhood on the boat “VAGARI”, between Paris and Le Havre, Antwerp and Rotterdam. Son, grandson, great-grandson of a boatman, he was lulled by popular singing. He expanded his family repertoire by meeting Normans who were bearers of tradition and by collecting songs he made in Normandy.

Biard was recently in a partnership with the recently departed Patrick Denain, performing as Patrick Denain & Miguel Biard, or simply, BiarDenain.  Hailing from Fécamp in Normandy, Patrick and Miguel performed with a symbiosis which could be felt as well as heard. Both superb singers in their own right, their voices complimented each other’s so completely and made for a magical performance.

It does not appear that Biard is currently performing musically.  He lists his current occupation as, “Lithicist at the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research”.
