Neil Beattie

My musical interests are very eclectic but my real feeling was always for folk music. In my 30s and 40s I was a member of a Ceilidh Band that grew out of an acoustic session in The Almondbank Hotel in Carnoustie. I only started singing, for more than chorus duties anyway, around 12 years ago and I finally arrived at Newport Folk Club towards the end of lockdown. in 2025 I was one of the ‘bands’ appearing at “Pirates in the Port” in Newport, appeared there again in May 2026.
My songs are both from traditional and contemporary sources and are always sung acapella. I hope you enjoy them.
