Overview
For more than 37 years Nordet has been performing traditional sea shanties and its own creations. The crew knows how to make people dance or sing in a festive spirit. Nordet have sailed from Lorient, their home port, to New York; from Paimpol to Liverpool and from Hoorn to Douarnenez. These four sailors, exuberant and joyful, will embark the audience, from dead calm seas to storms, from the middle of oceans to the docks, and from Breton taverns to Dutch pubs. So welcome on board you sailors. — Band Profile for the 2026 Bie Daip Folk & Seasongs Festival Appingedam.
Nordet has nearly 30 years of musical journeys in many ports around the world, from its home port Lorient in Brittany to New York; from Paimpol to Liverpool or from Hoorn to Douarnenez.
The nights at the dives, the gold of the pirates; the girls from Lorient, Hamburg or La Tortue; the song of the masts under the trade winds, the rose of the winds and the shells of walnuts; the first strand sailors and the rampart crayfish; the Groix Islands in Madagascar; Achab and Fanny de Lanninon populate the songs of Nordet and his crew amarinated on the big stages of festivals as well as cabarets and whose humor, enthusiasm, energy, voices and instruments will carry you away like a gust of wind.
