Overview
The band Pekel performs maritime folk. An ecclectic mix of old Dutch folk music and contemporary work. You will also be bombarded with a number of styles and an unprecedented enthusiasm of the musicians! The latter is what touches people most when Pekel is performing; the audience is inevitably carried away by the surprising arrangements, played on an extensive set of instruments. The men of Pekel are a special cross between musicians in a painting by Breughel, the shantymen of a three-master sailing ship, and developers of new repertoire.
