Roaring Trowmen, The

The Roaring Trowmen are four hearty men from Bristol, U.K, who sang sea shanties and songs of the salty deep with passion, power, humor and glorious blending harmonies.  Sadly they are now on an indefinite hiatus.

Posted on Facebook on 17 Feb 2023:  “With considerable sadness the Roaring Trowmen must announce they are taking an indefinite hiatus, effective immediately. All future bookings have been cancelled and we’re taking no new ones. We would like to offer sincere shanty regards to all our national (and international!) fans for your support and encouragement over the last 12-ish years. It’s given us many amazing experiences, taken us to places we’d never dreamed of, and connected us to some wonderful people. Our website and Facebook page will continue to be maintained, including our ‘shop’, mainly to try shift a mountain of remaining CDs and t-shirts!! (Any takers? Birthday presents? Early gifts for next Christmas?) So will we ever sing together again? Never say never! The Trowmen spirit remains strong in all our hearts. It won’t happen soon, but perhaps one day …”
