Robert Bouthillier

Robert Bouthillier will be performing as a solo act at the 2025 Festival du Chant de Marin – Paimpol!

Superstitia, a musical maritime tale that whispers to us superstitions born from the imagination of Quebec sailors. This touching story takes us aboard a wooden boat, born from the dreams of a young captain who defies winds and storms to contemplate the horizon. We sail on the St. Lawrence River, we fly over the waves, we dive into the depths. We face austerity, death too, to see a new superstition born.

Bouthillier also performs with his daughter, Gabrielle Bouthillier, and Liette Remon in the Quebecois trio, Serre l’Écoute.  He studied ethnology at Université Laval.

The program for the 2025 Festival du Chant de Marin – Paimpol indicates that Bouthillier lives in Quebec, but his Facebook page indicates that he lives in Brittany.  The MMDI team awaits news directly from Bouthillier. [14 April 2025]
