Overview
Serre l’Écoute is made up of Liette Remon, Robert Bouthillier and Gabrielle Bouthillier. They have teamed up since 2001 to highlight pearls from the oral sung tradition, many of which come from their own collections in Quebec, Acadia and Brittany. Natural heirs and researchers, today they carry the stylistic know-how specific to these traditions and show a certain instinct for vocal polyphonies, which gives them a sound that is both familiar and characteristic. Through the richness and sincerity of their interpretations, they become ambassadors of the repertoire they transmit and respond with a living practice to the threat of a disappearing intangible heritage.
