Shanty choir “Die Regghe Sangers” is one of the musical ambassadors of the municipality of Hellendoorn.
We perform at home and abroad. For example, we provide annual performances in the various care centers within the municipality of Hellendoorn, we perform during festivals, harmonica days, fairs, walking and cycling tours and during other events.
“We should also set up such a choir.” This is what four friends jokingly said to each other in the late 1990s when a Shanty Choir graced the monthly coffee concert of the KSW Vriendenkring. However, it remained the intention.
A year later, another Shanty company performed in De Smidse. After that, the quartet took the plunge: From next month we will also rehearse ourselves”.
Since then it has been going crescendo with “Die Regghe Sangers”.
At the beginning of January 1999 Shantykoor Die Regghe Sangers was officially founded. And within fourteen days the choir already had about thirty members.
We have 7 musicians, 29 singers , 1 soundman and an artistic director on board .
Die Regghe Sangers are indispensable in Nijverdal society and guarantee a cozy and atmospheric performance.
