Greetings to all. John Townley posted news of Charles O’Hegarty and a release of his songs, and how to get the recording. I hope lots of folks will buy it. Charles died some years ago (2010) in London, UK, his hometown. He was totally authentic, a mighty singer, a great raconteur, and the driving force of The Starboard List. Sadly, he had problems with the drink which eventually got the better of him. He was a wonderful fellow, and was loved by so many. He is still remembered with much love, in Gloucester, Mass. Charles and I were both born on the Isle of Dogs in the East End of London.

The other member of The Starboard List, Peter Marston, has also left this world. He died on Sept. 30th 2022. Peters obituary tells us that he was a world authority on Magnetic Engineering and super colliders. He headed up the US Department of Energy program for Magnetohydrodynamics, (that is some word), and high energy physics Technology. He was also head of the Plasma Fusion Center at MIT. He was recognized by an international group of Nobel laureate physicists for being the reason for the success of every one of the worlds Supercolliders. He was a great sailor, and loved the songs and stories of the sea. He starred as Captain Granville in the successful TV series for children, The Voyage of the Mimi. The Mimi was Peters own boat and is now somewhere at the bottom of Gloucester Harbor.

I [David Jones] am still here and still singing the old songs. I post songs on this page and on Tik Tok, (@starboardlist) and have written a book, Smith of Lambeth, which is available on a site named after a mighty river. Have even been invited to a lovely festival in North Carolina in 2023.
