Starboard Watch (OR, USA)

The headman of Starboard Watch, William C. Mrkvicka – who goes by “Mrk” – when asked if he was aware of the group in California that went by “Starboard Watch”, responded, “I chose the name because I was on the night crew (the starboard watch) while I was on board the Forrestal.”  He expanded, saying, “We are old coots who love sea faring songs and shanties.”

In 2018 Mrk was standing in with a group called The Doo Dad Shanty Boys. He reports, “It kind of ‘morphed’ into Starboard Watch.”
